Personal Information

I have been married to my wife, Josey, a high school Dual Speech teacher, for 6 years. We have a 4-year old son, Matthew, who started PreK this year and keeps us on our toes. We enjoy traveling as a family and are always looking for a free weekend to catch any University of Houston sporting event!

Platform Statement

PJ Caposey said, “The most important rule of educational leadership is always to remember that people, not policies or programs, are what drive highly effective schools.” Being a part of TEPSA is a testament to that. Throughout my time as a TEPSA member, I have seen firsthand the passion and dedication to ensure that Texas public schools are the best.

This organization offers the opportunity for leaders to develop their skills to better serve all those around them. I am an advocate for growth amongst all educators and fellow leaders. Together we can use our experiences to create change for districts and students in the great state of Texas.

Our responsibility is to be the voice between the teachers, administrators, and state leaders that can support our efforts to serve all students and TEPSA gives us that platform. Although there is still much work to be done, I believe serving on the board will assist in these efforts by lending passion for public education.

We must continue to build our school system for the better for all Texas public school students. Being a part of this great organization is a great platform to get the job done. As Cindy Tierney has mentioned, “The ripple effect…one small change can have an enormous impact” and TEPSA has and continues to do such. It would be an honor to serve with the best and lead the best as your next Member At-Large on TEPSA’s Executive Committee.
