Student Leadership Training for 4th-8th Graders

TEPSA has trained more than 40,000 Texas students to be successful leaders on their campuses since 1999. During the workshop, 4th-8th grade students and their advisors learn to create a dynamic student leadership team. Workshop is designed to enhance all leadership team models including, but not limited to, Student Council, Leader in Me, Rachel’s Challenge, Character Council, Ambassadors, Kindness Club, House Leaders, and more.

During their own session, students:

  • Explore and develop their personal leadership style.
  • Discover techniques to generate peer participation.
  • Learn how to effectively communicate.
  • Discover their roles and responsibilities during a leadership team meeting
  • Identify leadership challenges and problem solving techniques.
  • Meet and share ideas with other student leaders from across the state.

 

During their own session, advisors:

  • Learn how to organize the council and keep it active all year.
  • Explore tools to create meaningful and challenging projects and fundraisers.
  • Explore how to develop a constitution, establish the criteria for membership and hold a successful election.
  • Discover successful and unique project and fundraising ideas.
  • Learn how to become a recognized student leadership team.
  • Connect with experi­enced leadership team advisors.
