Preparing for Meetings

Before each region meeting:

 

At each region meeting:

  • Share your membership goal and current progress with the group. Ask them to contact new administrators and nonmembers in their area.
  • Identify people who might serve as ISD liaisons.

 

After each region meeting:

  • Send the sign-in sheet and updated membership list to Elizabeth.
  • Follow up with ISD liaisons regarding membership in their school district.

 

Throughout the Year

 

July

  • Review membership lists and identify ISDs that would benefit from having a dedicated membership recruiter (ISD liaison).
  • Identify ISD liaisons and discuss orientation plan with your officers.
  • Contact potential ISD liaisons.

 

August

  • Host meeting for ISD liaisons:
    • Distribute recruiting ideas, current membership lists, nonmember lists and membership applications. Ask recruiters to update membership lists and send them to Elizabeth.
    • Follow up with those who are unable to attend.
    • Send recruiter mailing list to Elizabeth.
  • Recruiters call new administrators in ISD regarding membership and Assistant Principals Conference.

 

September

  • Contact universities in your region about Aspiring Administrator membership.
  • Recruiters call first-year members in ISD who haven’t renewed.
    • If people say they are not renewing, please ask them why and send that information along with their name and address to Elizabeth.

 

October

  • Email membership lists to ISD recruiters. Ask them to correct and return to Elizabeth.
  • Recruiters call nonmembers in ISD.

 

November

  • Recruiters call members in ISD who haven’t renewed. Remind them liability insurance has expired.
  • Provide updated membership list to Elizabeth.

 

February

  • Email current membership list to ISD recruiters. Ask them to correct and return to Elizabeth.
  • Recruiters call every school leader in their region who has not joined this year.

 

April

  • Send recruiters information about Spring First-Time Member promotion
    • First-time TEPSA members can join for a special rate and pay the member rate at Summer Conference.
  • Call nonmembers who attend your meeting.
  • Order TEPSA products as gifts for recruiters.

 

May

  • Host wrap-up party for recruiters.
    • Offer a gift to each with a special prize for the top recruiter.
    • Encourage them to continue in their volunteer role or to recommend people in their region who might be interested in serving.
  • Meet with your TEPSA officers and share ideas for next year.
