Student Leadership Training for 4th-8th Graders

Ever-popular and highly interactive, TEPSA’s Leaders ‘R’ Us Workshops have trained more than 38,000 Texas students to be successful leaders on their campuses since 1999. During the one-day workshop, 4th-8th grade students and their advisors learn to create a dynamic student leadership team. This energetic and engaging day is designed to enhance all leadership team models including, but not limited to, Student Council, Leader in Me, Character Council, Ambassadors, National Junior Honor Society, Rachel’s Challenge, Kindness Club, House Leaders, etc.

Workshop Benefits

Student leaders and advisors develop leadership skills and guide your team. They also:

  • Discover techniques to generate peer participation.
  • Explore tools to create meaningful and challenging projects and fundraisers.
  • Meet and share ideas with other student leaders.

During their own session, students:

  • Explore and develop their personal leadership style.
  • Learn how to effectively communicate.
  • Discover their roles and responsibilities during a leadership team meeting
  • Connect with student leaders in other schools.
  • Identify leadership challenges and problem solving techniques.


During their own session, advisors:

  • Learn how to organize the council and keep it active all year.
  • Explore how to develop a constitution, establish the criteria for membership and hold a successful election.
  • Discover successful and unique project and fundraising ideas.
  • Learn how to become a recognized student leadership team.
  • Connect with experi­enced leadership team advisors.
  • Plan with their leadership team.
