StuCo in Action

Austin Elementary at the Student Leadership Workshop in Coppell

Featured Project of the Month

Student Leadership Campus: Frances and Jeannette Lee Elementary, Caddo Mills ISD
Project Name: The Breakfast Club
Project Goal: The purpose of this project is to help younger students on our campus, who are not receiving parent support at home in reading and help increase their reading skills by helping them read their take-home books.

Special thanks to our 2017-2018 TEPSA Leadership Award Winner, Lee Elementary for submitting their project idea!

November Project Ideas

  • National Author’s Day: Every year on November 1, millions of people celebrate authors and the books that they write on National Author's Day. Invite a local children’s author to your school to visit classrooms to discuss his/her books.
  • Jean Passes for Sale: A sure-fire idea for a fundraiser is selling Jean Passes to teachers and staff. This StuCo team sold jean passes during the three weeks between Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break for $30. The money raised is used for all of the projects undertaken by their StuCo team. - South Hi Mount Elementary in Ft. Worth ISD
  • Thanksgiving Food Baskets: This StuCo team purchased all items needed for a Thanksgiving Dinner. The sponsor placed “at-risk” kids’ names in the pot. One at-risk family from 7th grade and one family from 8th grade were given a complete Thanksgiving Dinner. - Refugio Jr. High in Refugio ISD
