TEA releases 2017 Community and Student Engagement ratings

(TEA) The Texas Education Agency released the 2017 Community and Student
Engagement (CaSE) ratings for the state’s school districts, charters, and campuses today.
The Texas Education Code (TEC) requires all districts and charters to evaluate their own
performance, as well as that of each of their campuses, in community and student engagement.


Districts must assign—both to themselves and to each of their campuses—one of four
performance ratings: Exemplary, Recognized, Acceptable or Unacceptable.
In 2017, 1,200 of 1,201 school districts and charters in Texas reported a locally assigned overall rating of Acceptable or higher. In addition, more than 99 percent of campuses
(8,451 out of 8,499) received a locally assigned rating of Acceptable or higher. More...
