4th-6th grade students and their advisors:

  • Learn to create a dynamic student leadership team
  • Discuss leadership styles
  • Network with other student councils
  • Share strategies for guiding student leadership development
  • Discover techniques to generate peer participation
  • Explore tools to create meaningful and challenging projects and fundraisers

Workshop Information

  • Lunch and all materials, including a pen, will be provided.
  • Leaders ‘R’ Us shirts will be available for purchase. These can be pre-ordered with the registration or purchased at the workshop. They are $11.
  • Silly Songs of Leadership DVD - $10 can be preordered or purchased on site
    * Free DVD when you purchase a minimum of 10 t-shirts and 10 dog tags.
  • Leaders 'R' Us Dog Tags ($2 each) can be preordered or purchased onsite.

Workshop Benefits for Students and Advisors
Students will:

  • Learn leadership skills.
  • Learn roles and responsibilities, how to plan an agenda and conduct a meeting.
  • Discover techniques to generate student participation.
  • Network with student council leaders in other schools.

Advisors will:

  • Learn to organize the council and keep it active all year.
  • Receive ideas for projects and promoting student involvement.
  • Have opportunity for facilitated planning and discussion with student council advisors.
  • Network with other advisors.

Workshop Presenters
Carolyn Solomon and Julia Lyda are educators with student leadership experience on elementary campuses.  This is the 10th year they have conducted the Leaders "R" Us Workshops throughout the state.
